The mission of Food for Kidz is to provide the opportunity for people of all ages to package specially designed nutritious meals and to distribute the food to hungry children and their families.
In 2011 Waunakee Feed the Need gave 50,000 meals to the Dane County Community Action coalition and the meals were distributed free to 46 local food pantries. Another 135,000 meals were sent to places in need around the world. Many of the meals were sent to Dadaab, Kenya, in a partnership with World Help, Inc. to help refugees arriving from Somalia. More than 10,000 children are dying every month here from malnutrition, diarrhea and other diseases.

Since it's inception, Food for Kidz has sent millions of servings to children in 32 different countries. This is made possible by a network of relief organizations that have systems in place to distribute the food through established channels. This makes sure the food moves to where it is needed and that it isn't used for political gain. Food for Kidz food was some of the first food to arrive in Haiti after the devastating January earthquake. Today Haiti needs all the food we can possibly provide.
Waunakee Feed the Need is an all volunteer group. Donations are used to purchase ingredients for the nutritious food packets.
